Oh hey! So you found my blog. You’re either really interested in what I have to say about weddings, fertility and trying to conceive, or you’re just plain nosey and want to know what’s been going on in my life for the last few years! I hope it’s the former, and if so, here’s a little about me...
I’m OBSESSED with weddings. No, like, unnaturally. Wedding themes. Wedding dresses. Wedding stationery (uh, drool). Wedding films. Wedding songs. Weddingsweddingsweddings. I actually visited a psychic a couple of years ago, and as she was sitting me down and making me a cuppa, she just came out with “what’s with you and weddings?!” I masterminded how to plan our gorgeous wedding without breaking a budget, but it wasn’t without its pitfalls. So, lying on a beach in Mexico on honeymoon, I came up with the idea for this blog. I was absolutely itching to get my hands on my computer and tell the world what went wrong!! (Or maybe I was itching from the mosquitos? Who knows?) It took 9 years for my husband J and I to finally tie the knot, so mark my words – I was ready and raring to get planning! And boy did I!
Once the honeymoon was over – literally – we set about making a home for our future family. We moved in with my parents while we saved for a deposit for our first house, and less than a year after getting married we bought a beautiful period home on the coast of Devon! It was at this point, that our world fell apart, and married life soon became all-consumed with trying for a baby.
That was in April 2016, and here we are now – and my blog has definitely taken a different direction since I first started out chatting all things weddings. I’ve shared the very high highs, and the inconceivably (see what I did there?) low lows with you, in the hope that you might find solace in what you might be going through, too. There’ve been endless doctor and hospital appointments, invasive fertility testing, three rounds of IVF, a devastating miscarriage, and the light at the end of the tunnel - our miracle baby boy born in January 2020! But our journey isn’t over, it's only just beginning...
